The Andrew Lees Trust ("ALT") was set up in memory of acclaimed environmental campaigner Andrew Lees after his death in Madagascar in 1995. ALT works on community level projects such as fuel efficient stoves (to combat deforestation) and community radio (to popularise community health and education). They focus their efforts in the area around Fort Dauphin, in South East Madagascar. ALT is to date the only NGO active in Madagascar to have succeeded in passing all operational control of its projects to local Malagasy staff. Visit ALT's website at www.andrewleestrust.org
